Hi Professor,Hi collegues.Saul here.
I would just like to point out that to all of those that are using Office 2007(like me),and don't want to have such a hard time with incompatibilities between 2007 and the its predecessors, you can define Word to save automatically in .doc format, wich is compatible with every Word versions.
Just open Word, and click the Office icon(upper left corner, the thing with the multi colored squares).See Word options there?Click it.
Now you should see a screen where there's lot of options and some words in the left side.Search for 'Save'.Click it.
Now,you should see something that says 'Save files in this format',or its equivalent in Portuguese.
It should be set to (just) word document (.docx).Change it to Word 97-2003 document(.doc).
There, just click ok,and no more worries about sending incompatible files. It will from now on save all new documents in normal doc format.
Tip:While you're there, why not changing the auto recover setting to a little early? It is normally set to 10 minutes, but it won't hurt changing it to 5 or 4 minutes.Because in 10 minutes,a lot can be written...
Ok,Saul Santos is out, cheers to ya'll.
Saul
Thnaks for these tips. If anyone else has any practical ones like this, please share them!!
In fact, tt would be very useful to have a 'tech' thread in this blog for such things. Anyone take up the offer of linking one in? Or making suggestions for this?
Allyson
Saul, thanks for the tip :P
Allyson, I've no idea of a "tech" thread :S
